3 Routes Toward Central Mamuju Village Buried By Landslide Successfully Opened

MAMUJU - A landslide that buried roads leading to three villages in Pangale District, Central Mamuju Regency, West Sulawesi, (Sulbar) has been successfully opened.

"The landslide that filled the road and made access roads to three villages inhabited by thousands of people in Central Mamuju, has been successfully opened with the help of government heavy equipment," said the Commander of the 1418 Mamuju Kodim (Dandim), Infantry Lieutenant Colonel Imasfy in Mamuju, reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, 7 September.

Imasfy said the road that was previously covered by landslides is located in Polo Lereng Village, which is a connecting road to Lamba Lamba Village and Polo Camba Village, Pangale District, Central Mamuju Regency.

According to him, heavy rains caused landslides in the area so TNI personnel tried to take action to get rid of the landslide material.

"TNI personnel coordinated with government agencies in Central Mamuju and lowered heavy equipment so that landslides could be removed with the help of the surrounding community," he said.

According to Imasfy, the road to the three villages can finally be traversed by the community to carry out their economic activities.

"Although the landslide has been successfully removed, heavy equipment will still be on standby if heavy rains occur again which can make landslides happen again," he said.

TNI personnel will also remain on standby throughout the village to help the community coordinate with the government when a disaster occurs.
