Regarding Sandiaga Uno Ready To Be A Presidential Candidate, PPP: Monggo Just Close To The Lower Flow, But Internally DPP Still Wants Suharso

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of PPP Arsul Sani responded to the readiness of Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno if supported as a presidential candidate (candidate) in 2024. Sandi stated his readiness after meeting with the management of the PPP for the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY). According to Arsul, PPP has not yet determined the presidential candidate to be promoted in the upcoming 2024 presidential election. He emphasized that the question of the figure of a presidential and vice presidential candidate will be discussed at the Mukernas before being proposed to the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB).

"The new PPP will determine the presidential and vice presidential candidates that will be proposed to the current coalition of parties. After the PPP Mukernas later," Arsul told reporters, Thursday, September 1. Arsul admitted that a number of PPP regional leadership councils (DPW) had started proposing Sandiaga Uno to the DPP. However, he said, for the time being the internal DPP still wants PPP General Chair Suharso Monoarfa to run as a presidential candidate from his party.

"I know that a number of DPWs also voiced Sandiaga Uno as a potential figure to become a presidential or vice presidential candidate from PPP. Meanwhile, from internal there is Mr. Suharso Monoarfa," said Arsul.

However, the Deputy Chairperson of the MPR from the PPP faction said that his party currently provides an opportunity for a number of potential figures to win the hearts of parties and the public, including Sandiaga Uno. This is because PPP will carry out a 'bottom-up' process to propose its candidate," he explained.

Sandiaga Uno, he continued, took advantage of the opportunity to approach PPP. PPP, said Arsul, is open if Sandi is ready to run as a presidential candidate and asks for support.

"Mrs. Sandi Uno took advantage of this opportunity to actively go down to the structural and undercurrent ranks of PPP. We are just welcome as if there are other figures who also want to approach the PPP structure and undercurrent, so please just go," said Arsul.

Previously, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, expressed his readiness when he was promoted to run in the 2024 presidential election.
