Russia's Defense Ministry Calls Ukraine's Counter-Action Failure: 1,200 Death Armys, Including Foreigners In 24 Hours

JAKARTA - Ukraine's military lost more than 1,200 personnel in a bid to launch a counter-attack, Russian Defense Ministry Spokesman Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov said Tuesday.

Konashenkov said Ukraine suffered many casualties as a result of the defeat of Ukraine's military attack on Nikolayev-Krivoi Rog and other regions.

"In the last 24 hours, in their effective operation, Russian troops eliminated 48 tanks, 46 infantry fighting vehicles, 37 other armored combat vehicles, 8 pickup vehicles with large caliber machine guns and more than 1,200 Ukrainian soldiers," Konashenkov said.

In repelled enemy progress, Russian troops intercepted the 1228th Brigade of Ukrainian troops deployed from the western region to participate in the attack.

"Five soldiers from the brigade laid down their weapons and surrendered," said Konashenkov.

He further explained that Russian troops carried out attacks with ground-based precision weapons, eliminating more than 200 Ukrainian militants and about 40 foreign mercenaries in the Dneprop waysk Region.

"Attacks by ground-based precision weapons in the residential area of Aleksandrovka in the Dneprop waysk Region destroyed targets where the Ukrainian army's first brigade tank ammunition was placed and ammunition warehouses. The attack eliminated more than 200 militants, including about 40 foreign mercenaries, more than 20 armored vehicles and a large number of artillery shells," the spokesman said.

In addition, more than 100 militants from Ukrainian army foreign legions and Kraken armed formations, were killed in a Russian attack on the Donetsk People's Republic.

"In the Konstantinovka area of the Donetsk People's Republic, a concentrated fire attack was carried out on the temporary placement of mercenaries from foreign legions, as well as against the Kraken nationalist formation command post. The attack eliminated more than 100 militants as well as seven items of military hardware," he said.

"Operational and military tactical flight aircraft, missile and artillery forces continue to attack military locations on Ukrainian territory. In the past 24 hours, they have attacked five command posts, including the 108th and 65th mechanical brigades near the settlement of Vodyanoye in Donetsk. The People's Republic and Veslyanka in the Zaporozhye region, 35th and 36th Marine infantry brigades of Ukrainian soldiers in Nikolayev territory and nationalist formations in Kharkov City," he concluded.
