JAKARTA - Candidate for mayor number 1 in the South Tangerang Regional Election (Tangsel) Muhamad asked about the moringa plant to the candidate for mayor number 2 Siti Nurazizah in the Tangsel Pilkada debate. Azizah, daughter of Vice President Ma'ruf Amin emphasized the importance of moringa plants, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

You often say that Moringa cultivation will be developed, as far as I know that in Tangsel there is already an icon, which is orchids, will it move orchids in the future or what? asked Muhamad during the South Tangerang regional election debate broadcast on Kompas TV YouTube, Sunday, November 22.

Azizah then explained that the cultivation of Moringa plants does not mean shifting orchids. In fact, moringa will have a good impact on orchids.

"Because moringa has small leaves, so if it grows I am sure it will grow orchids. In fact, moringa is a movement icon to respond to the current COVID-19 pandemic situation," said Azizah.

Azizah said that Moringa is not only economically valuable but also supports health.

"Because moringa is a people's plant in fact recommended by WHO and can overcome the problem of the COVID pandemic. He can improve family nutrition and also increase body immunity so that this can be a solution to dealing with the COVID pandemic, ”said Azizah who is paired with Ruhamaben in the South Tangerang Regional Election.

Meanwhile, Ruhama said that the moringa variant could be used by MSMEs, especially for food products. Through the use of Moringa, it is hoped that economic improvement in terms of MSMEs can occur.

"Moringa can increase economic value. It is healthy not only for the body but also in the pocket," said Azizah, adding to Ruhamaben's explanation.

Muhammad responded again to Azizah's explanation. According to Muhamad, Moringa is indeed useful for body health. Meanwhile, the vice mayor candidate Rahayu Saraswati Djojohadikusumo said that Moringa cultivation is also part of the food security program.

"We have to develop food security, through food security we want to develop a program of 100 million per RW per year. That is for economic recovery through the field of food security, "said Sara.
