JAKARTA - Russian state arms manufacturer Rosoboronexport showcased an export version of the latest Armata main battle tank at the 2022 Army international military technical forum some time ago.

This tank is in the company's storefront among other export-oriented weaponry. The Russian state arms exporter has never demonstrated the T-14 Armata tank before.

Previously, the export version of the tank was first launched as a scale model at the IDEX arms show in Abu Dhabi in February 2021.

Rosoboronexport CEO Alexander Mikheyev said at the international arms show IDEX 2021, "about six countries showed their interest in the T-14 tank based on the Armata combat platform," TASS reported August 18.

The Armata is a standard tracked vehicle platform that serves as the basis for developing main battle tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, armored personnel carriers and several other armored vehicles.

The tank, based on the T-14 Armata platform, developed by defense manufacturer Uralvagonzavod, was unveiled to the public for the first time at the Victory Day Parade on Red Square on May 9, 2015. In 2019, the Armata tank underwent preliminary tests.
