Investigating Allegations Of Prokes Violations In Megamendung, West Java Regional Police Will Call Rizieq Shihab

JAKARTA - The West Java Regional Police will summon Rizieq Shihab to ask for his statement regarding the alleged violation of the health protocol due to a crowd in Megamendung, Bogor.

Head of West Java Regional Police Public Relations Kombes Erdi Adrimulan Chaniago said Rizieq's summons to clarify or find a bright spot in the problem that occurred.

"(Rizieq Shihab) will definitely be summoned by investigators for clarification, so the flow of the problem will be clear," Erdi told reporters, Saturday, November 21.

But it is not certain when the investigation will invite Rizieq Shihab. Because, in the investigation series, several names such as the Regent of Bogor, Ade Yasin, have also not been asked for information.

Originally, Ade Yasin was declared exposed to COVID-19. So, currently still in the healing process at the hospital.

Erdi said that later in the clarification, investigators would dig up information regarding the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the pesantren which caused a crowd.

"We will explore whether Habib Rizieq is the owner of the location, or if the person concerned is invited. That will be explored," he said.

The alleged violation of the health protocol occurred when the crowd gathered to attend or attend the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the pesantren in Megamendung, Bogor. Because the event was attended by Rizieq Shihab.

So, his arrival attracted the attention of the public, but many did not apply health protocols by not wearing masks.

In the process of investigating the case, the police have clarified several witnesses. One of them was West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil, who was questioned at the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit, on Friday, November 20.

For about 7 hours, Kang Emil was questioned. He explained to investigators about West Java which adheres to an autonomous system. This means that each region in West Java has its own authority.
