BATAM - Batam City Bawaslu reported that there were four people who complained that their names were used as political party cadres. Their names are entered into the KPU's political party information system (Sipol).

"So far, there are four people who have reported or complained to Bawaslu that their names are listed as members of a political party, two men and two women," said Chairman of the Batam City Bawaslu, Syailendra Reza in Batam, Riau Islands, Thursday, August 25.

He revealed that the background of the complainants were private employees. While their origin, said Reza, is a resident of Batam City.

"All of them are not civil servants or TNI-Polri. They are private workers. The NIK is Batam," he said, according to Antara.

Furthermore, Reza said that his party also sent letters to local government agencies, the TNI and the National Police as a precautionary measure so that the names of workers in these agencies are not listed as cadres of political parties.

"We have written to the Batam City Government, we are writing to the Air Force and Army Lanal and to the Police, this is for the prevention process and we ask them to check as well, whether anyone is registered as a member of a political party or not," said Reza.

From the complaint, Bawaslu then forwarded it by sending a letter of suggestion for improvement to the Batam City KPU.

The registration period for political parties as candidates for the 2024 general election is open from August 1-14, 2022. Meanwhile, the next stage is entering the administrative verification (vermin) of political party requirements documents.

In accordance with KPU Decree Number 260/2022, Regency/Municipal KPUs carry out administrative verification of political party membership requirements from August 16-29 2022. The implementation of administrative verification is divided into several stages.
