Ridwan Kamil: Key Collaborations For Achieving COVID-19 Vaccination

BANDUNG - West Java Governor M Ridwan Kamil said that one of the keys to achieving the COVID-19 vaccination target in West Java Province (Jabar) which has a population of 50 million people is innovation and collaboration.

"Although West Java has the largest population in Indonesia, it is able to achieve the national vaccination target by prioritizing innovation and collaboration strategies," said Ridwan Kamil as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 17.

Ridwan Kamil reports on the progress of COVID-19 vaccination achievements in West Java.

He said that until August 16, 2022, West Java had carried out the first dose of vaccination, reaching 36,635,808 or 85.98 percent.

The total of the second dose of vaccination reached 31,788,321 or 74.60 percent and the total of the third dose of vaccination reached 14,211,328 or 33.35 percent.

Based on this data, according to Ridwan Kamil, it can be concluded that although West Java has the largest population in Indonesia, it can achieve the national vaccine target by prioritizing innovation and collaboration strategies.

Kang Emil, as he is familiarly called, said that this year is the third year that the Indonesian nation will celebrate its independence during the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, the current condition is much more controlled because it has entered a transition period from a pandemic to an endemic.

When compared with a number of other countries, said Ridwan Kamil, Indonesia is classified as successful in carrying out efforts to control the spread of COVID-19.

"And this is all thanks to our joint efforts. Collaborating, encouraging innovation in solving various problems caused by this pandemic. Joint synergy between the committee, TNI/Polri, health workers and the community in accelerating vaccination," he said.
