JAKARTA - CEO of pharmaceutical company and manufacturer of coronavirus vaccine Pfizer, Albert Bourla, announced that he was positive for COVID-19 after undergoing a test, Monday.

Sharing the news about her positive COVID-19 condition, Bourla said she is experiencing mild symptoms, and is feeling well while in self-isolation.

Furthermore, Bourla is also undergoing treatment using Paxlovid, an antiviral drug also developed by Pfizer.

Bourla, 60, said he had received four doses of the Covid-19 vaccine developed by his pharmaceutical company in partnership with German biotechnology company BioNTech.

"I would like to inform the public that I have tested positive for COVID-19," Bourla said in a statement issued by Pfizer.

"I am grateful to have received four doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine and I feel fine, while experiencing very mild symptoms."

"I have started Paxlovid treatment, I am self-isolating on the spot and following all public health precautions," he said.

"We have come this far in the last two years, in our efforts to fight this disease, so I am confident that I will recover quickly."
