BENGKULU - The Bengkulu Provincial Government provided assistance in the form of cash with a total of Rp36 million, building tools and basic necessities to 12 families (KK) who were victims of a house fire on Jalan Jeruk, Lingkar Timur Village, Bengkulu City.

Bengkulu Governor Rohidin Mersyah at the location of the fire said the aid funds came from the Bengkulu Province National Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas).

"The nominal may not be much, but hopefully it can ease the burden on all of you. Please accept it with sincerity," said Rohidin as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, August 13.

He explained that from the Rp36 million each family received assistance of Rp3 million, 15 sacks of cement, zinc, ready-to-eat food, basic necessities, rolled tents, and blankets.

In addition to coming from the Bengkulu Province Baznas, the goods assistance came from the Social Service (Dinsos) and the Bengkulu Province Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD).

For files and securities that have been burned, he guarantees that the local government will make it easier to manage them.

However, he suggested that the victims appoint a resident representative to collect data on any letters or files that were burned.

"So it will be recorded later, how many ID cards are there, how many family cards are there, then others such as diplomas, motor vehicle documents including certificates, all are recorded and classified," he said.
