What's Happening In Bali's Undisan Tourism Village To Praise Minister Sandiaga?

JAKARTA - What tourism actors do in the Undisan Tourism Village, Bangli, Bali, can inspire other regions in developing quality and sustainable tourism and creative economy.

"Management of the Undisan Tourism Village is one of the best because it prioritizes community-based tourism that respects existing communities", said Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno in an official statement, Jakarta, Saturday, August 13, as reported by Antara.

He appreciated the success of the Undisan Tourism Village in breaking through the list of the top 50 Indonesian Tourism Village Awards (ADWI) 2022.

The people of Undisan Village mostly work as farmers, breeders, and craftsmen of gold and silver flowers. It was then packaged very well by the manager of the Undisan Tourism Village.

"Undisan Tourism Village which is under the auspices of the Undisan Kelod Traditional Village still maintains the preservation of art and culture, reinforced by awig-awig/customary village regulations", said the Menparekraf.

Some of the cultural activities that are still being carried out include traditional Peparuman (a form of deliberation), temple preservation, Subak (a community organization that specifically regulates the irrigation system for rice fields used in rice cultivation), the procurement of the Ngaben Ceremony (bodies burning), and the preservation of sacred dances.

In the Undisan Tourism Village, he continued, various homestays offer interesting facilities and activities for tourists, such as learning dance, seeing dancers' performances in local clothing, and enjoying special culinary delights, which tourists can also participate in the manufacturing process.

"In the midst of a pandemic, it is proven that the rate of visits to tourist villages has increased by 30 percent. In the midst of a pandemic, when tourism is experiencing difficulties, it turns out that tourist villages are the main choice because the concept being sold is the daily life of village people in a very open nature", said Sandiaga.

In ADWI 2022, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) involves strategic partners to collaborate in the development of tourist villages, especially those in the top 50 best tourist villages.

It is said that Undisan Tourism Village will get support from Adira Finance in developing Muslim-friendly tourist villages.

"Through Adira Finance Syariah, we also support the Moslem Friendly Tourism program from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy by contributing to the development of facilities and infrastructure for Muslim houses of worship in five tourist villages that are included in the 50 Best Tourism Villages in 2022. We hope that this support can provide benefits for tourism development and the creative economy in Tourism Villages", said Adira Finance President Director, Dewa Made Susila.
