Excessive Consumption Of Magic Mushroom Russian Caucasians Riot In Gili Trawangan Deported By Immigration Mataram

NTB - Mataram Immigration Office officers, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), deported a male foreign national (WNA) from Russia with the initials KK (27) for disturbing public order.

Mataram Immigration Technology and Information Section Head, I Made Surya Artha, said that the reason for the deportation was because the behavior of the Russian Caucasians was violent when they were on Gili Trawangan, endangering public security and order.

"We, Indonesian Immigration adhere to a selective policy. Only foreigners who provide benefits and do not endanger security and public order are allowed to enter and be in Indonesia so that if there are foreigners who make trouble like this KK case, then it is not appropriate to be left in our country," said Made Surya, reported by Antara, Tuesday, August 9.

He explained that the Immigration Office's decision to deport the KK was by standard handling procedures. This is based on the implementation of Law Number 6/2011 concerning Immigration.

"Because of his behavior that endangers the security and public order, our KK is subject to Article 75 paragraph 1 of Law Number 6/2011 concerning Immigration. He is subject to immigration administration action in the form of deportation," he said.

Despite violating the rules, he said, the handling of the KK case was completed only until the deportation assistance process at Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali, on Tuesday, August 9 in the morning, Made Surya assured that his party would continue to prioritize a humane attitude.

On July 21, 2022, a man from Russia was arrested by police officers in the Gili Trawangan area, North Lombok Regency, because he had disturbed residents and other tourists who were enjoying their vacation in the Gili Trawangan area.

Residents suspect KK did so because of the influence of consuming magic mushrooms or wild mushrooms in excessive doses. It gives the effect of hallucinations to forget people who eat wild mushrooms.
