When His Wife Struggled With Cancer, This Depraved Father Rape His Daughter

JAKARTA - This lecherous father had the heart to rape his own daughter who was only 14 years old. Even more so, his depraved act was carried out while his wife was undergoing cancer treatment.

The identity of the victim is protected by a court order. Likewise with the perpetrator who cannot be named because of his biological father status.

The incident took place in Singapore as quoted by Channel News Asia. The perpetrator was 44 years old and on Monday 8 August, he was sentenced to 24 years in prison plus a maximum of 24 lashes.

The court heard the man first sexually abused his daughter in May 2019, and this continued for several months.

In October 2019, while the rest of the family was asleep, the assailant entered the victim's bedroom and sexually assaulted the girl before raping her.

The victim pretends to be asleep throughout the ordeal. While his sister slept on the bed next to her.

The man committed the offense another night in November 2019, and again in the early hours of December 2, 2019. Each time the abuse occurred, the victim pretended to be asleep.

All was revealed when the girl's mother entered her daughter's bedroom moments after the abuse took place.

To her surprise, she saw her husband kneeling beside the girl's bed, naked from the waist down.

On reflex, the wife immediately hit and asked how he could do such a thing.

The victim began to cry, as did her sister who woke up from the commotion. The man apologized to his wife and left the bedroom.

The girl did not report the attack because she saw that her family was financially dependent on her father after her mother started receiving cancer treatment.

She didn't want to make her mother angry or worried during her treatment, said Deputy Public Prosecutor Shen Wanqin and Benjamin Samynathan.

After the incident, the victim's mother changed her children's sleeping arrangements by moving the victim and her sister to the same room as their other siblings.

In 2020, the victim's mother was hospitalized.

That same night, the man went into his children's room and sat on the victim's bed. He left the room shortly after he was startled by the sound of his son sneezing loudly.

The next day, the victim informed her mother about the incident via text message.

The mother returned home a few days later and confronted her husband about what had happened.

When she asked why he had gone to the children's room, her husband was silent and did not answer.

A few days later, the mother decides to apply for personal protection for her children against their father, as she wants to protect them from him in his absence.

She took the victim to the police station where the girl told officers that her father had raped her the year before.
