The officers of the Seberang Ulu II Fire Station assisted by the Seberang Ulu I Post and the Merdeka Post dispatched as many as eight fire engines to a location about one kilometer from the South Sumatra Fisheries, Public Water and Fisheries Research Institute.
"The fire was successfully extinguished about 15 to 20 minutes from the arrival of the officers to the location," Septa said when confirmed, Tuesday, August 2.
Septa said the fire started in a room where electrical equipment is stored in the rectorate building for vocational education in the tourism sector from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy.
Meanwhile, the Head of Operations at the Palembang Polrestabes AKBP Kunto S Hartono said the police were still conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
"The report received by the blackout team in the field is suspected to be an electrical short," he said.
He confirmed that there were no fatalities or injuries in the incident. Meanwhile, activities at the Tourism Polytechnic continue to be conducive.
