MEDAN - Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution and racer Akbar Rais carried out a drifting action in the Merdeka Square area, Medan. Drifting Bobby was then widely circulated on social media.

The action was then responded by Member of the Medan DPRD, Rudiyanto Simangunsong. The PKS politician assessed that Bobby's actions did not set a good example or role model for the community.

"First, we appreciate what the mayor has done with the aim of promoting tourist destinations in the city of Medan. But in my opinion, the mayor must also set a good example for his citizens, we judge that this is not a good example," said Rudiyanto, Wednesday 27 July

According to him, at a young age, Mayor Bobby should be able to find other ways that are more creative by not violating the applicable rules. This includes traffic rules.

This is because the road where the drifting is located is a public road. Although these activities are carried out at night, there are still quite a lot of people who are active. This, he said, could be proven by the large number of people who witnessed the activity.

"Once again, we must be an example for other Medan residents, be an example for Medan City residents. We appreciate the mayor's good intentions, but we suggest that the mayor can find another way that is more elegant, more creative but does not violate the rules, " he said.

Drifting on the streets, continued Rudiyanto, is feared to make people, especially young people, take the same action.

It is feared that young people 'plot' in the middle of the road which is a public road at night. Of course, this violates the traffic rules.

"As far as I know, there are regulations on public roads, for example what is the maximum speed. Can the curfew rule be ignored? We also ask the police to remind the Mayor of Medan not to do that anymore. Moreover, this concerns many safety issues. people, including residents who watched the action," he said.

The drifting action went viral on social media. This action made the people of Medan City amazed to see the actions of Driver Akbar Rais and Bobby Nasution who were sitting next to him. Observed on Akbar Rais' official social media, he was also seen praising the audience and enthusiastic about the city of Medan.
