JAKARTA - The National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) stated that updates made to the 2021 Family Data Collection (PK21) will be adjusted to the priority areas of extreme poverty levels.

"According to the priority areas for extreme poverty levels, PK21 updating activities are carried out in 212 districts and cities with a target of 20 million families," said BKKBN Deputy for Advocacy, Mobilization and Information Sukaryo Teguh Santoso in Jakarta, Tuesday, July 26.

In his statement, Teguh explained that the priority locations for the previous data collection were in 212 regencies/cities only. However, the latest update in 2023 will be implemented in 514 districts/cities with the help of 600 thousand cadres under the supervision of trained PLKB and OPD.

This was done because PK21 will be the database for the program to accelerate the reduction of extreme poverty. The update is planned to begin in September to October 2023. While data collection will be compiled in November 2023. The data collection process will be divided into two models, namely 20 percent manual data collection and 80 percent digitally integrated with the BKKBN data collection system.

For collection, PK21 includes a Population Identification Number (NIK). The data collection includes family planning, the number of couples of childbearing age, and the number of children. While data collection in family development is carried out based on mapping family behavior such as the home environment, education, economy.

Teguh continued, the update will go through various stages starting from completing, repairing, updating, recording mutations, recording migrations and registering new families that did not exist in the previous PK21 data.

In addition to updating PK21 as a whole, the BKKBN also provides services for family development, population and family planning programs, as well as interventions to accelerate stunting reduction for extreme poor families.

“So that temporary data can be seen in December. So August is the steps for institutional preparation, training and so on. The kick off is in September," said Teguh.

Previously, PK21 managed to record 68,487,139 heads of families. But in addition, the National Socio-Economic Survey (Susenas) shows that in March 2021 the number of people experiencing extreme poverty will reach 27.54 million or 10.14 percent.

Then in September 2021, the number of people experiencing extreme poverty was declared to have fallen to 26.50 million people or 9.71 percent.
