Only Four Left After Lili Pintauli Resigns, Alexander Marwata Ensures That KPK's Work Will Not Be Disturbed

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) ensures that decision-making at the institutional leadership level is not disrupted even though Lili Pintauli Siregar resigns from her position as deputy chairman. This process can be carried out with a minimum of three leaders.

"No (disturbed, ed) because the case titles don't have to be five, but at least three, yes, that's how it is," said KPK Deputy Chair Alexander Marwata to reporters, Friday, July 22.

"If three are present, I think it's already a forum. So it doesn't have to be five," he continued.

Even so, Alexander still fully handed over the decision to replace Lili to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). Moreover, there are five names of candidates that can be chosen from the leadership election in 2019.

"Yes, let's wait, Mr. President, there are five (names of candidates, red)," he said.

Lili Pintauli resigned after she was suspected of violating ethics by accepting accommodation and tickets for the Mandalika MotoGP.

She sent a letter since the end of June to which Jokowi responded with a Presidential Decree (Keppres) regarding the dismissal of the leadership on Monday, July 11.

Due to the resignation, the KPK Supervisory Board then aborted the ongoing ethics session. The reason is that Lili is no longer a member of the KPK.

Previously, Lili Pintauli was reported to the KPK Supervisory Board for allegedly receiving accommodation and tickets for the Mandalika MotoGP from PT Pertamina (Persero). In conducting the investigation, Tumpak and Partners have asked for information from various parties including the President Director of PT Pertamina, Nicke Widyawati.
