PADANG - One unit of a resident's house in Jorong Aia Angek Sonsang, Nagari Cupak, Gunung Talang District, Solok Regency, West Sumatra, was burned down. An 18 month old toddler died in this incident.

Gunung Talang Police Chief AKP Aam Hermayanto confirmed the fire incident which occurred on Monday at around 20.00 WIB.

As a result of the fire, an 18-month-old toddler died. Meanwhile, the male parent of the toddler, Firdaus (32) suffered 80 percent burns and the female parent Yuliana (30) suffered 50 percent burns.

"Witnesses only found out about the incident at around 22.00 WIB with the condition of the fire already growing," he explained in Solok, Antara, Tuesday, July 19.

The source of the fire is thought to have come from a lamp that fell to the floor of the house, causing the fire.

The location of Firdaus' house is far in the middle of the rice fields and is difficult to reach by firefighters because the access is only a path or rice field embankment.

"As a result, the handling is done manually so that the fire is difficult to extinguish," he said.

Finally, the fire was extinguished with the help of the community at around 21.00 WIB. This fire incident was close to the Bukik Sundi Police Station (Solok City Police) on the border between Nagari Cupak.

However, the Bukit Sundi Sector Police with the Inafis Team, the Solok City Police immediately conducted a crime scene (TKP) at the location at the time of the incident.
