JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan is exploring financing cooperation for the advanced phase of the integrated Moda Raya (MRT) project with officials from European Union financial institutions.

"We met at the MRT office to discuss the financing plan for the next phase of MRT", said Anies in Dukuh Atas, Jakarta, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 19.

Anies held a meeting with European Union finance officials including the European Investment Bank (EIB) Vice President Kris Peeters and the European Union Ambassador to Indonesia Vincent Piket.

The meeting of European Union officials with Anies was a reciprocal meeting after previously two months ago the Governor of DKI met with them in Luxembourg to discuss public transportation investment in Jakarta.

However, Anies has not provided details on the potential value of the investment cooperation for the construction of the Jakarta MRT which will be launched by the European Union institution.

After holding the meeting, Anies then invited the EU finance official to ride the MRT and tour the Dukuh Atas area which is currently viral on social media, especially among young people.

The European finance official was also invited to visit the Kendal Tunnel and taste coffee at outlets run by entrepreneurs with disabilities.

Anies also invited the EU finance official and the EU Ambassador to walk like an impromptu model at a road crossing in Dukuh Atas, a location that is now viral because it is a gathering place for young people with the nickname "SCBD (Sudirman, Citayam, Bojonggede, Depok).
