KENDARI - The joint SAR team found a fisherman named Salam (35), who was reported missing after the long boat he was using sank in Kasilampe Waters, Kendari Bay, Sunday 17 July, dead. Head of Kendari Basarnas Aris Sofingi in Kendari, Tuesday 19 July , said the victim was found dead after three days of searching operations by the joint SAR team. "At 14.26 WITA, the joint SAR team found the victim dead about 100 meters east of the location where the victim was reported missing," he said, quoted by Antara. The joint SAR team then evacuated the bodies of the victims to the Kendari Basarnas pier to be brought and handed over to their families at the funeral home in Anduonohu Village, Poasia District, Kendari. Previously, Salam and two residents of Anduonohu Village, Poasia District, Kendari City, went fishing in the waters of Kasilampe on Sunday (17/7) at around 06.00 WITA. However, at around 19.00 WITA their long boat was hit by a wave, so it sank. Two of Salam's colleagues, namely Muhammad Aprianto (33) and Colla (30), managed to save themselves in the disaster. Meanwhile Salam was reported missing until he was found dead after three days of searching. "With the discovery of the victim, the search and rescue operation for the victim is declared complete and closed, all elements involved are returned to their respective units," said Aris.
