JAKARTA - Solo Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka is optimistic that the Indonesian contingent will become the overall champion of the 2022 ASEAN Para Games.

Solo is hosting the Southeast Asian disabled sporting event which is scheduled to take place from July 30-August 6 2022.

Gibran's self-confidence was conveyed during his visit to the Manahan Stadium, Solo, Monday, July 18. Participated in the group of Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora), Zainudin Amali.

"In terms of achievement, there is no doubt about it, if the target is the overall winner, it must be the overall winner, sir", said Gibran as Chair of the Indonesia ASEAN Para Games Organizing Committee (INAPOC) ASEAN Para Games 2022, quoted from the Surakarta News YouTube channel.

Gibran asked for support from all stakeholders, including the Indonesian people, especially the City of Solo, which was involved in the committee and the audience reported if there were any shortages during the 2022 ASEAN Para Games.

"I ask for the support of all of my friends, later if for example, something is lacking from the facilities and implementation, we will report it immediately", said Gibran.

Gibran emphasized that the support of all components of the committee and spectators for the success of the 2022 ASEAN Para Games is very much needed.

However, regarding the achievements of athletes who participated in 14 sports in the 2022 ASEAN Para Games at several points in Solo City, Gibran admitted that all of this had been carefully prepared by the relevant ministries.
