Make Sure The Independent Curriculum Goes As Planned, Nadiem Makarim's Men: Can Be Chosen Voluntarily By The Education Unit

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) ensures that the implementation of the Independent Curriculum continues as planned. This means that there is no cancellation of the implementation of the Independent Curriculum.

This assurance was conveyed by the Head of the Education Standards, Curriculum and Assessment Agency of the Ministry of Education and Culture, Anindito Aditomo, in a written statement quoted by Antara, Sunday, July 17. "Starting from the 2022/2023 school year, the Independent Curriculum is one of the options that can be chosen voluntarily by education units," said Anindito.

Decree (SK) of the Head of the Educational Standards, Curriculum and Assessment Agency (BSKAP) Number 044/H/KR/2022 signed July 12, 2022, stipulates that more than 140 thousand educational units will implement the Independent Curriculum in the 2022/2023 academic year.

"The decree revises the previous decree, because there are changes in several educational units that reflect and change the level of implementation, for example from the level of independent learning to independent changing or vice versa," said Anindito.

Anindito said that the Ministry of Education and Culture encourages education units to implement the Independent Curriculum in accordance with the needs and readiness level of each education unit.

"The Merdeka Curriculum is designed to provide flexibility for educational units to create contextual educational unit operational curricula so that learning is implemented according to student learning needs," said Anindito.

The Merdeka Curriculum was launched by the Minister of Education and Technology in February 2022, as one of the Merdeka Learning programs to improve the quality of learning. The Independent Learning curriculum focuses on essential materials and on character development of the Pancasila Student Profile.
