Need Fast Money, Fruit Ice Seller In Purbalingga Pawns A Friend's Motorcycle To Build His Bankrupt Business

PURBALINGGA - A fruit ice seller with the initials MN (35) is dealing with the police. The reason is that the man who lives in Bojong Village, PurbaIingga District, embezzled a motorbike belonging to Toha (27), a resident of Kebumen Regency who lives in Purbalingga.

Purbalingga Deputy Chief of Police Kompol Pujiono in his statement on Friday, July 15 said that the incident occurred on June 5, 2022, but was only reported on July 6, 2022.

"The incident has been going on for a month and has just been reported. Two days after the victim's report, the Purbalingga Police managed to secure the suspect," explained the Deputy Chief of Police in a written statement, Friday, July 15.

It was explained that the incident began on Sunday (5 June), the suspect came to the victim's Nasi Padang stall in the Bojong Village area to borrow a motorbike. He reasoned that he would visit his wife who was bleeding at the hospital.

Because they knew him, the victim lent him his motorbike, a Supra X 125 type with the police number AA 2373 ZJ. However, after a few days the motorcycle was never returned.

"When an inspection was carried out at the perpetrator's house, he was not at home and his wife was not sick. After a month of not being returned, the victim finally reported the incident to the Purbalingga Police," said the Deputy Chief of Police.

Purbalingga Police, who received the victim's report, then examined the witnesses. The suspect was finally arrested in the Karangmanyar Village area, Kalimanah District, PurbaIingga Regency, Friday, July 8.

Based on the investigation, the suspect admitted that he needed the money. His business selling fruit ice was deserted by buyers so he suffered losses and needed more capital.

"The suspect admitted that the victim's motorbike had been pawned in Jakarta for Rp. 3 million. Meanwhile, the money had been used to buy clothes and other necessities," he said.

The evidence that was secured was a number of clothes purchased from the proceeds of pawning a motorbike. Among them are 1 black jeans, 1 brown shorts and 1 T-shirt that says Woles. The motorbike is still being searched.

The suspect is subject to Article 372 of the Criminal Code regarding embezzlement. The maximum penalty is four years in prison.
