Health Workers Complains Discontinuation Of Internship Doctor's Living Cost Assistance, Ministry Of Health Confirms Will Be Paid Even If It's Late

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health has clarified the complaint of health workers regarding the notification letter for the temporary suspension of the internship doctor's living expenses (BBH) budget which has gone viral on social media.

The Director General of Health Personnel at the Ministry of Health, Arianti Anaya, confirmed that BBH would still be paid. However, she admitted that at this time the payment could not be made because there was a delay in the process.

The delay in giving the internship doctor's BBH, said Arianti, was caused by the review of the proposed revision of the budget of the Directorate General of Health Personnel in 2022.

“The provision of living support costs for the participants of the internship doctor program will be carried out as soon as possible. There are no cancellations", Arianti said in a statement, Thursday, July 14.

She explained that the review of the proposed budget revision of the Directorate General of Health Personnel which had an impact on delays in BBH payments was related to changes in governance at the directorate.

"We are adjusting the timing of the grant given that there is a review of the proposed budget revision", she said.

Previously, the Twitter account @blookier complained about the notification letter from the Directorate General of Health Personnel at the Ministry of Health regarding the temporary suspension of disbursement of the internship doctor's BBH budget for payments in June 2022. The letter is dated July 11, 2022.

As is well known, the granting of BBH aims to strengthen the quality of the profession of doctors who have just graduated from a competency-based medical study program.

The account objected to the temporary suspension of BBH from the Ministry of Health. This is because they themselves have spent money to issue documents such as internship registration certificates (STR) and other documents.

"The internship doctor is planning to have his life support terminated by the @KemenkesRI government. What do we do for free workers? We pay for the letters, but we don't get paid!" said the account.
