IPW Asks The Head Of The Propam Police To Be Deactivated, DPR Leader: No Relevance, Ferdy Sambo Is Also A Victim

JAKARTA - Indonesia Police Watch (IPW) has asked the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, to form a Joint Fact-Finding Team related to the shooting at the house of the Head of the National Police's Professional and Security Division, Inspector General Ferdy Sambo.

The National Police Chief was also asked to temporarily dismiss Ferdy Sambo from his position. This was done to find a bright spot regarding the death of Brigadier Nopryansah Yosua Hutabarat (Brigadier J) at the two-star police general's house.

Responding to the matter of deactivation, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Sufmi Dasco Ahmad considered that there was no relevance to the shooting case with Ferdy Sambo.

"In this case, Ferdy Sambo is also a victim", Dasco told reporters, Tuesday, July 12.

This member of Commission III of the House of Representatives (DPR) supports that the National Police Chief wants to form a fact-finding team outside the National Police Propam to investigate this shooting case. However, Dasco stated that he did not see the relevance of Ferdy Sambo should be removed from his position.

"If the National Police Chief is to form a team other than the Police's Professional and Security Division to investigate this case, go ahead because it is the National Police Chief's authority. However, the suggestion to deactivate Ferdy Sambo has no relevance in my opinion", said the Gerindra Party politician.
