Protests On The Change Of Street Names Are Increasingly Appearing, Cikini Residents Say It Has Changed Three Times There Is No Socialization From Anies' Party

JAKARTA - Residents of RW 01 Cikini Urban Village, Menteng, Central Jakarta, strongly reject the change in the name of Jalan Cikini VII to Jalan Tino Sidin.

According to Tuti Iriani (70), a native of the RT 01/01 area, Cikini Village, so far she has never received an invitation regarding the change of street name. He regretted the government's move to change the name of the street without the residents being invited to consult.

"I've never heard of any residents being invited, or RT as well," said Tuti to reporters, Tuesday, July 5.

In addition, Tuti also complained about the same complaints as other residents who refused to change the name of a street in Jakarta.

Titi objected because it had the effect of having to go back to managing residence documents, vehicles, banking, insurance, and other documents.

Even though he had to change the name of the street, Tuti hoped that the name change would not be Jalan Tino Sidin but Guru Demar. Tuti's reason for asking for a change in Guru Demar's name is because it means more to the community.

"If it is clear that Guru Demar has contributed in this area, he has his services for the community," he said.

Tuti also emphasized that only a few residents were invited to socialize the change in street names at the Central Jakarta Mayor's Office, which was held on Monday, July 4, yesterday.

"I was born here, from the name of Jalan Kali Pasir Gang Guru Demar, until it changed to Cikini VII, and now changed again to Tino Sidin, I never received socialization and invitations," he complained.

Previously, DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan officially changed 22 street names in Jakarta. This is regulated in Governor's Decree Number 565 of 2022. In addition to street names, several building names have also been changed to the names of Betawi figures.
