Having Fun Lying On The Embankment, 22-year-old Youth Drowns In Kalijodo

JAKARTA - A young man named Ericko Ramadan Fadillah (22) drowned in Kalijodo, Teluk Intan area, Penjaringan, North Jakarta, Sunday, July 3 at around 05.00 WIB.

The victim is believed to have fallen because he was lying on the embankment.

Head of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Search and Rescue Office, Fazzli, said that information on Ericko's sinking was received at 10.12 WIB.

"A rescue action was taken by his friend but it didn't work and until now the victim has not been found," Fazzli said as quoted by Antara, Sunday.

The SAR team dispatched a number of personnel consisting of the Jakarta Search and Rescue Office and the Metro Penjaringan Sector Police to search for Ericko.

In addition, personnel from the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of DKI Jakarta Province and the North Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat) at 10.37 WIB.

The search process also involved the Independent Volunteer Team (RIT), the Indonesian Ambulance Guide (IEA) Jakarta, the victim's family and the surrounding community.

The team moved to find victims at the location of the sinking and tried to save the victims with complete equipment from the SAR Office of DKI Jakarta Province.

"We deployed rescue personnel complete with underwater SAR equipment that we have to join the elements at the location, conducting search and rescue operations for victims," ​​said Fazzli.

Fazlli emphasized that his party together with the joint SAR elements would carry out search efforts by dividing the search area into three units.

The first unit conducted a search using a rubber boat with a distance of three kilometers from the scene.

The second unit conducted a visual search of the land route and installed a rescue net at a distance of two kilometers from the incident location.
