JAYAPURA - General Chairperson of the Indonesian Red Cross (PB PMI) HM Jusuf Kalla inaugurated the honorary board and management of PMI Papua Province for the 2022-2027 term at the State Building, Jayapura, Wednesday, June 29, 2022.

Those who were appointed were Chairman of the Honorary Board of Directors Yulce Enembe, Secretary Doren Wakerkwa, which consisted of Ishak Samuel Wopari, Mansyur, Jacleaba Joku, Yohanes Walilo, and Robby Kayame.

In his remarks, Jusuf Kalla thanked the Papuan Provincial Government for assisting PMI's work.

"We hope that the new management will improve services to the community," he said as quoted by Antara.

He explained that PMI's work must provide good service, as well as cooperate with the government to support humanitarian work in Papua.

"Essentially PMI must work according to 7 main principles, namely humanity, togetherness, neutrality, independence, volunteerism, unity, and universality," said the vice president for the two terms.

JK, Jusuf Kalla's nickname, also encourages PMI Papua to continue to synergize with the local government and other parties in facing increasingly difficult challenges ahead and in carrying out PMI's mandate and functions in the humanitarian field. "I also hope that the Honorary Council and the new Papuan PMI management can improve their performance and humanitarian services for the community," he said.

The inauguration procession was also witnessed by Acting Assistant III of the Papua Regional Secretariat, Derek Hegemur, and the Chairman and management of the Regency/City PMI in the local area.
