JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has yet to receive a summons from the South Jakarta District Court (PN). The summons relates to a pretrial submission made by the former Regent of Tanah Bumbu, Mardani H. Maming.

Mardani filed a pretrial after he received a letter of naming a suspect on Wednesday, June 22. He is suspected of being involved in the alleged bribery of mining permits in Tanah Bumbu Regency.

"So far, we have not received any notification letters or summons from the South Jakarta District Court," said Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement, Ali Fikri, in a written statement, Tuesday, June 28.

Although he has not received the summons, Ali emphasized that his party is ready to face the pretrial proposed by the General Treasurer of the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board.

Ali believes the court will further examine the pretrial submission. Moreover, the KPK has investigated the alleged fraudulent practice in accordance with the existing legal mechanism.

"The right of the person concerned to file a pretrial. KPK through the law bureau is certainly ready to face it," said Ali.

"However, we emphasize that we ensure that the entire process of investigating this case is in accordance with the statutory mechanism and the criminal procedure law," he added.

As previously reported, South Jakarta District Court Public Relations Haruno said that this pretrial was recorded under Perk Prap No. 55/Pid.Prap/2022/PN Jkt.Sel. The inaugural trial will be held on Tuesday, July 12 next.

Previously, Mardani's attorney, Ahmad Irawan, said that his party was reviewing the possibility of further legal action including pretrial after his client was named a suspect.

This study was carried out after the General Treasurer of the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board received a letter of determination of the suspect on Wednesday, June 22.

Mardani was named a suspect after being prevented from going abroad by the Directorate General of Immigration at the request of the KPK. Before being named a suspect, the General Treasurer of the Nahdlaltul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU) was also investigated.

However, after being questioned, he admitted that he was asked for information regarding his problem with the owner of PT Jhonlin Group Samsudin Andi Arsyad alias Haji Isam.

Even so, Maming's name was actually mentioned as receiving Rp89 billion in money in a trial for alleged bribery of a mining business permit (IUP) in Tanah Bumbu Regency which was held at the Tipikor Court, Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (Kalsel).

This allegation was conveyed by the younger brother of former President Director of PT Prolindo Cipta Nusantara (PCN) Henry Soetio, Christian Soetio. At that time, Christian claimed to know that there was a flow of funds to the former Regent of Tanah Bumbu Mardani H Maming through PT Permata Abadi Raya (PAR) and PT Trans Surya Perkasa (TSP).

The money transfer has been going on since 2014. The amount of tens of billions of rupiah is referred to as the amount quoted based on PT PCN's financial statements.
