President Jokowi Will Inaugurate Dendeng Kali SPAM Project In Kupang Which Swallows State Budget Of IDR 168 Billion

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will inaugurate the Kali Dendeng Drinking Water Supply System (SPAM) project, Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara. This project has cost the state budget IDR 168 billion.

This was confirmed by the Mayor of Kupang, Jefri Riwu Kore. He said President Jokowi would inaugurate this project in July 2022.

"This project is the construction of the largest clean water facility in Kupang City", said Jefri Riwu, as quoted by Antara.

This project was built by the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing with a capacity of 150 liters per second and has been completed.

Jefri Riwu said that the Kali Dendeng SPAM construction project is to meet the water needs of the residents of Kupang City, who always find it difficult to get clean water during the dry season.

"So far, the residents of Kupang City are very dependent on the District Drinking Water Company (PDAM), the rest even buy water from tank cars to meet their clean water needs", said Jefri.

Jefri explained that the Kali Dendeng SPAM project uses a processing system with the integrated and latest technology called SCADA or Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition.

This technology can control the distribution water treatment process to monitor leaks in the SPAM project. Later, this SPAM will supply clean water for 12 thousand house connections (SR), especially for residents of Alak District.
