Prevent Money Laundering And Terrorism Financing, Ministry Of Law And Human Rights Asks Notary Supervision To Be Improved

KALTENG - The Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kanwil Kemenkumham) Central Kalimantan (Kalteng) asked for increased supervision of notaries to minimize money laundering.

The Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights in Central Kalimantan, Hendra Eka Putra, said the instructions to increase supervision of notaries were addressed to the Notary Regional Supervisory Council (MPWN) and the Notary Regional Supervisory Council (MPDN).

"The notary supervisory board has the authority and obligation to supervise and ensure that notaries apply the Principles of Recognizing Service Users (PMPJ). This is to minimize the potential for money laundering," said Hendra in Palangka Raya, Central Kalimantan, quoted from Antara, Monday, June 20.

He said that the implementation of PMPJ by a notary is intended so that notaries are not used by perpetrators of money laundering and terrorist financing crimes. This effort is carried out to identify everyone who will use the services of a notary.

He made the statement regarding the MPWN and MPDN Coordination Meeting (Rakor) at a hotel in Palangka Raya. The coordination meeting is in the context of evaluating the implementation of PMPD supervision and handling notarial problems in Central Kalimantan.

There were 50 participants at the Coordination Meeting consisting of MPWN, Palangka Raya City MPDN, Kapuas Regency MPDN, West Kotawaringin Regency MPDN, East Kotawaringin Regency MPDN and Central Kalimantan Region MPWN and MPDN.

On that occasion, the Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of Central Kalimantan was accompanied by the Head of the Legal and Human Rights Services Division of Central Kalimantan, Arfan Faiz Muhlizi and the Head of the Immigration Division, Arief Munandar.

Hendra said the Ractor was aimed at increasing the understanding of the Notary Supervisory Council in Central Kalimantan regarding the implementation of PMPJ by notaries, so that they could carry out their duties of coaching and supervision properly.

"In addition, various problems related to the implementation of PMPJ by a notary will also be discussed, so that in the future the implementation of PMPJ can be carried out effectively in the Central Kalimantan region," he said.

He also advised all MPWN and MPDN members to always carry out their duties to the maximum, carry out supervision while still guided by the provisions of the legislation.

"Always maintain intense communication with the notary area administrators so that the implementation of the duties and functions of the supervisory board in Central Kalimantan is more optimal," he concluded.
