COVID-19 Update As Of June 20: 1,180 New Cases, Active Cases Increase To 9,099

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 72,023 specimens were examined with the result that there were 1,180 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulated positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 6,069,255 people and active cases have increased by 505 to 9,099 cases", said Ministry of Health data, Monday, June 20.

Today's recovered cases increased by 667 people, bringing the total to 5,903,461 people recovered. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 8 cases and a total of 156,695 people.

The province with the newest cases is DKI Jakarta with 701 cases and a total of 1,258,665 cases. Followed by West Java with 184 new cases with a total of 1,108,823 cases. Banten with 155 new cases and a total of 294,850 cases. East Java with 43 new cases and a total of 577,143 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 384 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an additional 93 recovered cases, East Java with an additional 59 recovered cases, and Banten with an additional 39 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 100,056,176.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week was 2.04 percent", it wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 2,617 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

To date, 201,177,238 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 168,503,412 people have received the second dose of vaccination.

While the third dose of vaccination was 48,913,705. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
