Control Action Rejects Work Creation Law, Kodam Jaya Reduces 6,000 Personnel At Istana Merdeka

JAKARTA - The Jaya Regional Military Command (Kodam) deployed 6,000 personnel to secure demonstrations against the Work Creation Law from labor and student elements in the Merdeka Palace area, Central Jakarta on October 28 and November 2, 2020.

"To guard our total personnel, there are 3,900 people. However, we have prepared a reserve force as well. So that is a total of 6,000 personnel. We have prepared all of that to anticipate, we will also see the escalation," said the Regional Commander of the Jaya / Jayakarta Military Command (Pangdam Jaya). ) TNI AD Dudung Abdurachman, reported by Antara, Tuesday, October 27.

In securing the action, Dudung said that his party prepared a humanist approach so that there was no need for clashes with the protesters.

He said Kodam Jaya together with Polda Metro Jaya had mapped out a strategy to balance the escalation of the masses.

"We have anticipated and the possibilities for mass escalation on October 28 and November 2, we can already read the map, including students and workers, even anarcho. We have prepared the anticipation," said Dudung.

Dudung ensures that if an anarcho group is found, it will be confirmed that later there will be guidance from TNI officers or even from the Police.

"Later we will localize it and there will be coaching with the discussion of national insight," said Dudung.

As is known during October 2020, the action against the Job Creation Law was carried out by several elements ranging from students to workers around the Merdeka Palace.

TNI and Polri officers also made sure that the security around the Merdeka Palace was tightened during the wave of the action.

Most recently, the action will be carried out by a group of students from BEM SI on Wednesday (28/10) and workers on Monday (2/11).
