Hasto Emphasizes Ganjar Pranowo To Be Straight And Disciplined To PDIP

JAKARTA - Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto believes the Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, is committed to his party. He is believed to be going straight to the direction of PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri.

"Pak Ganjar asserted that I am the PDI-P, upholding party discipline and relating to presidential and vice presidential candidates is the responsibility of the general chairman," Hasto told reporters at the PDIP DPP Party School, Lenteng Agung, Jakarta, Thursday, June 16.

Furthermore, Hasto did not want to interfere in the affairs of other parties, including when Ganjar's name appeared as a presidential candidate for the NasDem Party. However, he reminded each political party should galvanize its own cadres.

This has been done by PDIP by educating its cadres in party schools. "Of course we don't interfere with other party's households. We just have the principle that being a political party it is our duty to prepare cadres of leaders who are trained from party members," he said.

"That's why the National Working Meeting for the struggle will be held at the party school as a reminder that leadership is born through the party school process and then the assignment of party cadres," added Hasto.

It was previously reported that Ganjar had already spoken about his nomination as a presidential candidate at the National Working Meeting of the NasDem Party. There are 29 DPW who support him to be carried in the 2019 presidential election.

Ganjar said he was a PDIP cadre so he didn't want to talk much about the support given. "Thank you for getting the honor, but I'm the PDI-P," said Ganjar to reporters at the PDIP DPP Party School, Lenteng Agung, Jakarta, Thursday, June 16.

Ganjar emphasized his commitment as a party with the symbol of a bull. Even though there will be another party that will carry him, he will not budge.

"Are the proposals for marriage? The party is the PDI-P, the headquarters is the PDI-P," he said. "We are PDIP cadres," said Ganjar.
