PDIP Criticizes Tebet Park, Which Is Now Temporarily Closed: Evidence Of Immature Planning

JAKARTA - Member of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Gembong Warsono, assessed that the Tebet City Park (Tebet Eco Park) in South Jakarta which was temporarily closed was the effect of an immature study.

"When the development carried out by the DKI Provincial Government has a negative impact on the community, it proves that the planning is not good, the study is not mature," said Gembong, Wednesday, June 15, quoted from Antara.

The park, which is in the middle of a residential area, must go through careful planning and study.

The planning and studies, he said, include access to public transportation, parking lots, access in and out, to consider the convenience of local residents.

An in-depth study, he said, must also be carried out if you want to direct people to use public transportation to get to the 2.5-hectare park accompanied by massive socialization to the community.

The PDI-P politician said that the construction of the park was only pursuing projects with weak studies.

"You must have thought that if you had gone through planning. Since all (planning) was not carried out, what is happening as of now is only pursuing projects," he said.

He also asked the DKI Provincial Government (Pemprov) to reorganize, including conducting socialization to the community so that the existence of the park provides great benefits to the community.

Previously, a number of residents had complained about the existence of illegal parking and stalls of illegal traders around the Tebet Eco Park area, which disrupted traffic.

The DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency plans to transport motorbikes parked illegally around the Tebet Eco Park area, South Jakarta, because they disrupt traffic flow. Dishub also towed a car and carried out an operation to remove the valve of a motorbike that was parked illegally.

"If there is parking, as is the case in other locations, we will transport motorbikes," said Head of the DKI Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo.

The provincial government also handed over to the Police to ticket the motorized vehicles that were parked haphazardly. Since May 2022, his party has carried out traffic management and engineering in the city park area.

From the results of traffic management and engineering, his party has determined 11 parking locations around Tebet City Park with a capacity of around 570 car parks and 4,500 motorbikes.

Parking pockets around Tebet City Park include SMP 73, SD Muhammadiyah, Tebet Harum Flats and Basketball Court, Social Institutions, TPS, Kopi Nako and the nearest gas station.

Meanwhile, the DKI Provincial Government through the DKI Parks and City Forest Service via Instagram account @tamanhutandki announced that Tebet Eco Park will be temporarily closed until the end of June 2022 after being open for about the last two months.
