Deception Of 10 People Up To Rp1.3 Billion Mode Of Promising Work, Ex-Employee Of PDAM Tirtanadi Medan Arrested By Police

MEDAN - A former employee of PDAM Tirtanadi with the initials RD was arrested by Sub-Directorate III of Jatanras, General Crime Directorate of North Sumatra Police. He is suspected of deceiving his victims by promising a job as an employee of PDAM Tirtanadi.

The Head of Public Relations of the North Sumatran Police, Kombes Hadi Wahyudi, said that the perpetrator RD was arrested on the report that his victim had the initials RH.

The suspect's mode of action was by persuading, convincing and promising that he could include the victim and the victim's family as employees at PDAM Tirtanadi Medan and PDAM Tirtabina Asahan.

To his victims, RD promised to be a PDAM employee to replace employees who died due to exposure to COVID-19 or who retired.

"On the condition that the victims hand over money for the management costs," said Kombes Hadi, Tuesday, June 15.

So far, the police have investigated 8 people who were victims of RD's crime.

"We have asked eight victims for information. The possibility of increasing the number of victims continues to be investigated by investigators," continued Kombes Hadi.

From the proceeds of his crime, RD was able to reap a profit of up to Rp. 1.1 billion.

"For the victims, RH suffered a loss of Rp. 74 million, YH of Rp. 162 million, AES of Rp. 150 million, AMS of Rp. 150 million, NT of Rp. 150 million, RAMHP of Rp. 150 million, EF of Rp. 65 million and SS of Rp. 200 million. The money handed over by the eight victims amounted to more than IDR1.1 billion," he explained.

"The suspect also admitted that he had received money from two other victims with the same modus operandi, namely the suspect asked for Rp. 150 million from victim LI and Rp. 75 million from GU. The total loss of the 10 victims was more than Rp. 1.3 billion," said Kombes Hadi.
