BANTUL - The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) of Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY), has arrested a man with the initials MA (21) who is suspected of abusing marijuana.

He explained that the disclosure of the case began with public reports of suspected marijuana abuse in Bantul, then the Bantul Regency BNN officers conducted an investigation and arrested a perpetrator with the initials MA on June 7, 2022, at around 05.30 WIB.

"The perpetrator is a resident of Trirenggo Village, Bantul Regency, and was arrested when the perpetrator was at his house," he said.

Furthermore, accompanied by the environmental official, he said, the officers conducted a body and house search, then found some evidence of narcotics of the type of marijuana.

Details of the evidence included two packages wrapped in brown paper weighing 50 grams and 17 grams, as well as 25 rolls wrapped in white paper weighing 9 grams, one plastic marijuana seed with 0.66 grams, and three papers used to wrap marijuana.

"The MA admits that the marijuana-type narcotics package was purchased from a person with the initials MR who is known to be domiciled in Jakarta and the perpetrator has made two transactions with the same order for Rp. 1 million per transaction," he said.

Based on the examination, the Supreme Court admitted that he would use marijuana for himself. As a result of his actions, the perpetrators are threatened with being charged with Article 111 paragraph 1 of the Narcotics Law.

"Everyone who without rights or against the law, plant, maintain, possess, store, control, or provide narcotics class one will be punished with imprisonment for a minimum of four years and a maximum of 12 years in prison," he said.
