Woman In Temanggung Steals Motorbike After Being Loaned Rp9.5 Million

TEMANGGUNG - Temanggung Resort Police detained Suranti (36), a resident of Bringin Village, Ngaliyan, Semarang City, who was suspected of stealing a motorbike belonging to Jumadi (47), a resident of Ngropoh Village, Kranggan, Temanggung Regency, who helped him.

"The suspect took the victim's motorbike when the suspect was left at the victim's house alone," said the Head of Criminal Investigation at the Temanggung Police AKP Bambang Subekti in Temanggung, quoted from Antara, Friday, June 10.

The incident began when the suspect came to the victim's house to borrow money to help his brother. He promised to return it on the same day with the guarantee that the suspect would stay at the victim's house as long as he could not return the victim's money.

After the victim gave the suspect a loan of IDR 9,500,000 by transfer to his brother named Allen Fernando Pasaribu, the suspect stayed at the victim's house on the grounds that he was waiting for the money to be transferred from his brother to pay off the debt to the victim.

When the victim went to participate in mutual cooperation activities and the suspect was left alone at the victim's house, the suspect took the victim's motorbike without the victim's permission.

The motorbike was then taken to Kranggan and handed over to Supriyadi, who is currently being held in custody.

The police confiscated evidence belonging to the victim in the form of a black motorcycle with the police number AA 2867 TE.

Bambang conveyed that the suspect's act was an ordinary theft crime as referred to in Article 362 of the Criminal Code with a maximum imprisonment of 5 years.

Suspect Suranti said that he was forced to steal a motorbike to make ends meet.

"However, when I wanted to sell to a middleman, the person concerned was already in jail for the case of confiscation and I was confused about selling him," he said.
