According to Maram, the mortar was finally secured by regional hajj officers and brought back to Lamongan. The goods can be taken back by the owner upon his return from the holy land at the local city district Ministry of Religion office.

"Cobek should not be carried in the aircraft cabin. It is feared that if something goes wrong, items such as mortar can be misused for throwing or other anarchic actions on the plane, and this is dangerous," he said.

Apart from mortars, there were also congregants who brought hammers, nails, slaps and other sharp items. Maram said, all of these items can be carried in the trunk, and not excessive. "Congregants who want to bring scissors, razors, knives, please just put them in their luggage, don't put them in their carry-on bags," he said.

Maram said that the public's insight regarding luggage is getting better day by day. This is evidenced by the 5th batch from Surabaya, which did not find any liquid above 100 ml in the congregation's carry-on bags.

"So, of the 146 carry-on bags of the group 5 congregants from Surabaya, the officers did not secure any liquid or gel at all. They only secured sharp objects such as scissors, razors, nails and hammers," he said.
