Wuling Supports The Musikal Run Of Lutung Kasarung, Appreciation Of The Work Of The Children Of The Nation

JAKARTA - Wuling Motors (Wuling) has the spirit of being 'banguned in Indonesia for you' and this spirit is in line with always supporting the work of the nation's children, one of which is through participating in the Re-Run Musical 'Lutung Kasarung' performance which was held by the EKI Dance company on May 22-25, 2025 at Ciputra Artpreneur Gallery, Jakarta.

The collaboration between Wuling and EKI Dance Company proves that the art and culture world as well as the automotive industry are able to work together to create contemporary works that are full of Indonesian identities.

Marketing Operation Director of Wuling Motors Ricky Christian, said the company is proud to be part of the Re-Run performance of the musical Lutung Kasarung which aims to maintain Indonesia's cultural heritage with creative cross-industrial collaboration.

"Wuling has realized its support by presenting Air ev and Cloud EV electric vehicles. Hopefully, this cross industry collaboration can inspire more synergies between the world of art performances and the automotive industry in Indonesia," he said in an official statement, Friday, May 23.

Interestingly, in supporting the show Wuling was present on and off stage, even giving birth to breakthroughs in the use of technology in the stage. In the opening scene, Wuling Air ev appears with the main characters, Purbasari and Purbararang, on stage. This marks the first time an electric car has appeared as part of the on-stage choreography and created a Starstruck Moment. Then for off-stage, Wuling provides 3 (three) units of the Wuling Cloud EV serving as a supporter of mobility during the show.

The musical show Re-Run Lutung Kasarung is full of historical meanings and values. Taken from the Sundanese legend about the young teacher prince who was condemned to become a hamilt of roughness, this folklore teaches about goodness because the curse of a young teacher is erased after he finds a sincere true love regardless of the appearance of Purbasari, a daughter who is also cursed by her brother, Purbararang.

The EKI Dance Company packs stories that are passed down from generation to generation with contemporary dialogue, dynamical choreography, modern music, and high-tech stage stages to keep it entertaining for families and the younger generation. To make it even more stunning, the musical Lutung Kasarung is supported by young talents from the world of performances, such as Gerry Gerardo as Lutung Kasarung, Nala Amrytha as Purbasari, and Ara Ajisiwi as Purbararang and produced by Aiko Senosoenoto, Nala Amrytha and Alim Sudio.

The musical performance 'Lutung Kasarung' was first performed at the Kaya Indonesia Gallery in May 2024 and managed to attract public attention. Hashtag Lutung Kasarung Musikal even became a trend, accompanied by 3,000 digital content and more than 20 million viewers on social media.

This musical contributes greatly to exciting the interest of the younger generation in Indonesian legends. The high enthusiasm of the community encourages the EKI Dance Company to bring back the musical 'Lutung Kasarung' which is expected to attract around 2,100 viewers from 7 performances for 4 days.
