PKPU Approved, Candidate Starts October 19 And Campaign Starts November 28, 2023

JAKARTA - Commission II of the DPR RI together with the Minister of Home Affairs, KPU, Bawaslu, and DKPP have officially approved the Draft General Election Commission (PKPU) Regulations for the Stages and Schedule of the 2024 General Election. This PKPU will then be promulgated no later than 10 June 2022.

With the approval of this draft, the KPU is just waiting for the PKPU to be ratified in the plenary session of the DPR RI. So that the proposed schedule for the election stages until voting by the KPU has been officially approved.

Detailing the election stages at the meeting, the nominations for the 2024 presidential and vice presidential candidates were agreed to fall on 19 October-25 November 2023.

Initially, KPU chairman Hasyim Ashari explained that the nominations for members of the DPD RI were carried out on December 6, 2022-25 November 2023, while the nominations for members of the DPR, Provincial/Regency/City DPRD were on April 24-November 24, 2023. The 2024 election quiet period is scheduled for three days starting February 11-13. Voting at the polling station (TPS) will be held on February 14, 2024.
