YOGYAKARTA - The Yogyakarta City Government prepares daily implementers to ensure that public services at the Investment and One Stop Service Office continue to run even though the head of the office has just been named a bribery suspect by the KPK.

"Of course, an official will soon be prepared and appointed to be the daily executor (plh.) as the head of the service. In principle, we want to ensure that public services continue to run," said Yogyakarta City Mayor Sumadi, quoted by Antara, Friday, June 3.

The KPK has named four suspects in the bribery case for issuing building permits (IMB) for the construction of apartments located in the Malioboro cultural heritage area.

The four suspects are the Vice President of Real Estate PT SA ON as the bribe giver, while the recipient of the bribe is the former Mayor of Yogyakarta HS along with his aide and personal assistant TBY and the Head of the Yogyakarta City Investment and One Stop Integrated Service (DPMPTSP) NWH.

"Once a suspect has been identified, the office head's seat will be vacant. So, we will definitely appoint a daily executor so that the service can continue to run. At least on Monday (6/6) it will be filled," he said.

Regarding the IMB for apartments that have been issued, Sumadi said that his party will examine the permits that have been issued to ensure whether they are in accordance with applicable regulations or not.

"We will examine again whether the permit is issued in accordance with the provisions or not. Of course, we will verify again how the process is," he said.

For the potential for the issuance of an IMB which also violates the provisions stated by the KPK, Sumadi emphasized that this requires further scrutiny.

"There is already a new regional regulation related to licensing. If there is already a building standing, it must be adjusted to the new regulation," he said.

The KPK carried out an operation to arrest bribes for issuing apartment building permits on Thursday (2/6) in Yogyakarta and Jakarta by securing money worth 27,258 US dollars. In the arrest operation, the KPK also arrested 10 people.
