Special Agenda For Surya Paloh's Meeting With Prabowo, Scoping Party Coalition

JAKARTA - Prabowo and Surya Paloh meet, NasDem opens the possibility of a coalition with GerindraNasDem Party chairman Surya Paloh and Gerindra Party chairman Prabowo Subianto holds a meeting at the NasDem Party DPP office, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, June 1.

The chairman of the NasDem Party DPP, Willy Aditya, said that today's meeting between Surya Paloh and Prabowo was to release the longing between two old friends. However, Willy was reluctant to comment further regarding the discussion of the coalition between NasDem and Gerindra in the 2024 presidential election.

"The Syawalan gathering, after all (the NasDem and Gerindra coalition) will be discussed later, we'll see, this name is more missed, the two old friends haven't seen each other for a long time," Willy Aditya told reporters, Wednesday, June 1. However, Willy said it was possible that today's meeting would discuss exploring party coalitions. Because according to him, there are many collaborations that can be established between Gerindra and NasDem.

"If there is a discussion about coalition issues, the issue of political cooperation is also possible, but the scope can be broad, not only within the current government but also in parliament. There is Mr. Sufmi Dasco, the leader of the DPR, and Mr. Rachmat Gobel, who is also the leader of the DPR, of course. This collaboration is very, very broad, we can work together a lot," he explained.

Regarding the meeting that was held right on the Birthday of Pancasila, Willy said, it was a coincidence. According to him, the two nationalist figures met only in the context of national friendship.

"This is just our support, the universe supports that. Because this is June 1, the birthday of Pancasila, two nationalists, two patriots of the nation meet to discuss national friendship in the future," he concluded.
