Central Java Prepares 75 Regional Hajj Officers

SEMARANG - The Central Java Provincial Government has prepared 75 regional hajj officers who will accompany all prospective hajj pilgrims from Central Java while in the Holy Land.

"What needs attention is the comfort of the hearts of the pilgrims because usually, the pilgrims have teachers, usually (for example, the way of worship, ed) otherwise it is not legal so that sometimes it becomes a matter of debate," said Deputy Governor of Central Java Taj Yasin Maimoen after delivering a briefing to regional hajj officers throughout Central Java in Semarang, Monday 30 May.

According to the Deputy Governor, such matters must be explained by regional hajj officers so that the worship of prospective hajj pilgrims can be solemn and no blame between congregations.

Currently, regional hajj officers have been briefed on tasks while accompanying prospective pilgrims for the upcoming hajj.

He is optimistic that regional hajj officers from Central Java are ready and understand their respective functions.

"I believe Central Java is ready because the regional hajj officers understand religion, so that later the function of protecting worship while in Mecca can be handled by them," he said.

The Deputy Governor said there are several other things that need attention, one of which is health problems.

He reminded regional hajj officers to pay attention to the health side of prospective hajj pilgrims, especially since the 2022 hajj pilgrimage is the first to be held since the COVID-19 pandemic.

"I hope that this year's hajj pilgrimage can run smoothly. I hope that regional hajj officers carry out their main duties and responsibilities in serving prospective hajj pilgrims," ​​he said.
