DPRD Ultimatum ITF Terminated If Not Awaken When Anies Steps Down, Deputy Governor Touches On Previous Governor

JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria responded to the ultimatum of the DKI Jakarta DPRD regarding the plan to build a waste processing facility, namely the Sunter Intermediate Treatment Facility (ITF), which is still stalled.

In this case, Commission D of the DKI DPRD has threatened the construction of the Sunter ITF to be canceled if it has not been completed when the term of office of the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan ends in October.

Riza revealed that the discourse on the development of the Sunter ITF has actually emerged since the era of Fauzi Bowo (Foke) as Governor of DKI. At that time, the Sunter ITF had not yet been carried out and the plan was continued when Joko Widodo took office.

In fact, the groundbreaking process for the Sunter ITF has also been carried out many times by each of the previous governors. However, the construction process has not yet been implemented.

"The ITF has gone through a long process. Building the ITF was not only during the time of Pak Anies. The previous periods, the previous geburnur, also had the same plan to build a good waste management site that met the standards," Riza told reporters, Wednesday, May 25.

In fact, in the remaining five months of Anies' term of office, Riza said he was optimistic that ITF Sunter could start construction soon.

"In this period, we have gone through the process as well, the auction process, and there are already winners, we'll just have to wait," he said.

Previously, Member of Commission D for the Development of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Jamaludin, gave an ultimatum to the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to immediately implement the construction of the Intermediate Treatment Facility (ITF) in Sunter, North Jakarta.

This was conveyed in a working meeting of Commission D DPRD DKI with the ranks of the DKI Provincial Government some time ago. Jamaludin urged the DKI Provincial Government to start the construction of the Sunter ITF before Anies' term ends in October.

"We only have an ultimatum until the Governor ends his term, in October there were no significant developments, it did not materialize, so just stop Sunter ITF," said Jamaludin at the DKI Jakarta DPRD building.

Jamaludin emphasized that the waste management development plan at Sunter ITF requires real action. Considering that the Jakarta waste collection site at the Bantargebang TPST is predicted to be full in the near future.

"I don't think we need to be presented with the technicalities, what are we looking for, what is produced, the benefits, we don't need it. We just need the facts. There is an ITF which has been appointed for 4 years, until today it's just a beauty contest appointment," said Jamaludin .
