JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria admitted that the DKI Provincial Government had sent an invitation to President Joko Widodo to attend the Formula E event on June 4.
"Since this is an international event, of course the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Pak Jokowi, has been invited. (The invitation) has been sent," Riza told reporters, Wednesday, May 25.
In fact, Riza said Jokowi would also open this electric car racing event. However, regarding the mechanism, this is still regulated by the implementing committee.
"Of course, it has been prepared by the committee. Everything has been arranged in a place, technically, what is being done. The president, there may be related ministers, and governors, and so on," said Riza.
It is known that Jokowi had the opportunity to directly inspect the Formula E circuit on Monday, April 25. When inspecting the circuit, they were greeted by DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan, Pangdam Jaya Maj. Gen. Untung Budiharto, and Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General-Police Fadil Imran.
There, Anies invited Jokowi to drive around the circuit area using a golf cart. While walking around, Jokowi seemed to occasionally stop to look directly at the paved circuit.
