JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) Muhadjir Effendy said COVID-19 cases did not increase after the 2022 Eid homecoming.

This was conveyed after the Limited Meeting (Ratas) Evaluation of the 2022 Eid Homecoming at the State Palace, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, May 24.

"Thank God, until now, COVID has not experienced a significant increase and even tends to decrease," said Muhadjir as shown on the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube.

Not only that, Muhadjir also said that the vaccination and booster achievements had been maximized.

Muhadjir also mentioned the success of this year's Lebaran homecoming. He said, there are six parameters that determine the handling of the homecoming.

First, traffic management during the homecoming and return flows. Second, controlling COVID-19.

"The third is food raw materials and fuel, the last is also the booster which is a concern," he said.

"And Thank God, from these six variables, all were achieved very satisfactorily," added Mujadjir.

With these successes, Muhadjir said President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) would like to thank all stakeholders from the Ministry of Transportation, the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing, the National Police, the National Armed Forces (TNI), to the SOEs.

The appreciation, continued Muhadjir, was also given by Jokowi to all parties, including the people who remained disciplined when carrying out homecoming.

"Mr. President expressed his gratitude to all people, especially those who have carried out the 2022 homecoming for their discipline, and compliance with the provisions set by the government," he said.

"This includes the orderly use of the road while traveling, including compliance with the prokes, and other compliances," concluded Muhadjir.
