JAKARTA - A mother makes a lot of money selling her breast milk. He described the business as a 'full time job'.

Julie Dennis has made £ 15,000 (approximately Rp.280 million) since taking on the role of a surrogate mother in August 2019. When her baby lives with her family at six months of age, the 32-year-old woman no longer needs breast milk.

"I didn't have a baby to breastfeed after the first six months. I was compensated for that and after I finished, I started advertising milk on Facebook where I found other families," said the elementary school teacher, from Florida, USA, reported by the Daily Star. , Saturday, 17, October.

"The second family gave birth to their baby through a surrogate mother and she also didn't want to or couldn't breastfeed so they came to me," continued Julie.

She sells milk for 90 cents an ounce to other families who are unwilling or unable to breastfeed.

Julie explains: "Breast milk has antibodies and it is made for human babies but is much more expensive than formula milk. There are more people advertising than there are people buying so I was lucky."

In recent years, Julie has been breastfeeding two babies until they are one year old. The mother reduces milk products from her diet to meet one of the babies she is feeding milk.

Julie pumps 15,000 ounces of milk per month and keeps it in the refrigerator. He can then pack them into ice boxes and ship them across the country to those in need.

She said: "I fill my freezer twice a month and send it in an ice box with lots of ice packs in it and ship it overnight. For the first six months I only used it to supplement my income from work to pay bills and take care of my household.

"The last six months I just kept it in a savings account for personal funds. I haven't done anything cool with the money."

The woman has had a strong reaction for asking for payment for the milk - but insists that pumping milk equals a full-time job.

She said: "I have a very good uterus and very good breast milk so I can use it. It's not completely money oriented but I made sure it was worth it for me and my family.

"I got embarrassing comments because I asked for compensation for the time I spent pumping. A lot of people think it's free.

"I spend hours a day connected to the pump every day. There is time spent cleaning, bagging and sterilizing all of my pump parts between each use."

The mother of two added: "I wouldn't go to the store and think I could get free formula, so I'm surprised that people expect free breast milk."
