Prevent Brawl, Police Ask Citizens To Help Send Photos And Videos If They See A Suspicious Group Of Students

JAKARTA - The phenomenon of brawls between school students is still common in Jakarta, especially in the Central Jakarta area. Not long ago a student died as a result of being hit by a sharp weapon on Jalan Industri, Kemayoran, Thursday, May 19.

Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Komarudin appealed to the public to care about the security and public order (Kamtibmas) situation in Central Jakarta.

"Let's both care about the security situation in Central Jakarta," said Kombes Komarudin when contacted by VOI, Monday, May 23.

If there are people who find that there is a group that will interfere with the Kamtibmas situation, immediately report it to the police. Efforts are made to prevent brawls or other violence from occurring.

"If there are community groups, groups of students who are congregating in convoys, please video and take photos, then send them to us so we can take immediate action," he said.

Previously, a student was found dead after being stabbed by a sharp weapon on Jalan Industri, behind the DP3KK Office, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, Thursday, May 19. The victim died instantly at the crime scene (TKP) after being involved in a brawl with another group of students.

"So we have to narrow their space of movement, so that there are no more fights and victims," he explained.

The police chief asked for an active role from the community to inform the police if they saw or knew any signs of groups of students and other people suspected of wanting to brawl.

Because according to the Chief of Police, information from the public is very important to prevent the occurrence of the Kamtibmas disturbance from happening.

"We are really waiting for information from the public, if you find it, report it directly to us through the Central Jakarta Metro Police Instagram account," he concluded.
