Cases Of Violence Against Minors In Sragen Haven't Been Revealed, Police Reveal Some Facts

SRAGEN – The Sragen Resort Police explained the problem of handling cases of child sexual intercourse in Sragen which according to some parties was deemed not to be proceeding with the legal process.

In front of the media crew, the Sragen Police Chief Grand Commissioner Adjutant Piter Yanottama said that the handling of this case was still ongoing and his party had coordinated with a number of parties so that the handling of the case was immediately completed.

"Investigators of the Sragen Police Criminal Investigation Unit have made various efforts so that the investigation of this case can develop and continue to P21," said Grand Commissioner Adjutant Piter.

The case that happened to W (12) was reported to the Sragen Police Station according to the police report number LP/B/29/lll/2021 dated 15 March 2021. The report detailed that Tuesday 10 November 2020 at around 12.00 western Indonesia time in an empty house in Gebang Village, District Sukodono, Sragen Regency, there were allegations of sexual intercourse between two women, namely WD (D's child who was 9 years 11 months old at the time) and T with three men.

Efforts to develop the case can be optimal, and continue to be carried out by the police. Finally, the Central Java Regional Police has dispatched an investigation supervisory team on May 12, 2022.

Piter revealed a number of obstacles experienced by investigators in handling this case, including the lack of evidence and key witnesses from the case.

Piter said, the distance between the incident and the case being reported to the Sragen Police was almost a month.

"This case happened on November 10, 2020, then it was only reported in early December 2020 by the victim's parents. So within a month that has been, it is difficult for investigators to get authentic evidence of this criminal act," he explained.

Piter explained, however, these obstacles did not make the police give up and give up. Instead, his party will continue to make efforts to reveal this case by seeking other perspectives or obtaining other evidence that has not been obtained.

"We ask for prayers from all parties, both families and the wider community so that this case is immediately revealed, although in the current handling process there are a number of obstacles," he added.

Efforts to gain light on this case, he continued, were to examine a number of 16 witnesses. However, the results of the examination of the dozens of witnesses who have evidence that point to the perpetrators is still very minimal.

"Difficulties from other investigators are that from the results of the examination the victim, with the initials W, only mentioned one name from the scene of the first case. While the other names at the scene of the incident, the victim did not know," he added.

To add new evidence in this case, the Police have also coordinated with relevant agencies and are trying to collect digital and conventional evidence.

“The Sragen Police have also coordinated with related parties by conducting a visum et repertum with the Director of the Sragen Hospital number: B/31/XII/2020/Reskrim on 18 December 2020 for victim W. Then submitted a request for a psychiatric examination to the Director of the Surakarta Mental Hospital on April 5, 2021, for examination of victim W's child and a similar examination of witness T alias P to the Director of the Surakarta Mental Hospital on January 24, 2022," explained Piter.

Regarding the progress of the investigation, he invited the family and legal advisors to coordinate directly with the Satreskrim.

"Actually, for the progress of the investigation, the Satreskrim will send SP2HP. However, if you want to consult directly, the Sragen Police is ready at any time," he explained.

He revealed that, like the families of the victims, the Sragen Police also hoped that the investigation process could be completed soon.

"If the progress of handling this case is considered slow, we apologize. But basically, the Sragen Police are still working hard so that the investigation of this case goes as expected and can be fully disclosed," he said.
